APC DECLARES AIYEDATIWA WINNER OF GUBER PRIMARY POLL

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has declared Governor Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa of Ondo State as the winner of the governorship primary election held last Saturday. 

According to the election committee’s Chairman, Governor Usman Ododo of Kogi State, the primary was held across 203 wards in the 18 local government areas. 

Ododo announced the results at the Dome International Event Centre in Alagbaka Akure, saying Aiyedatiwa won 16 of the 18 local government areas with 48,569 votes.

He said the other aspirants’ scores are as follows: Wale Akinterinwa; 1,952, Olusola Oke; 14,915, Mayowa Akinfolarin; 15,343, Jimoh Ibrahim; 9,456, Isaac Kekemeke; 1,045, Gbenga Edema; 395, Olamide Ohunyeye; 424, Jimi Odimayo; 490.

Other results include Olusoji Ehinlanwo (492), Morayo Lebi (290), Diran Iyantan (348), Francis Faduyile (353), Ifeoluwa Oyedele (462), Funmilayo Waheed-Adekojo (529), and Funke Omogoroye (115).

Ododo also stated that there were 171,922 accredited voters, 95178 total votes cast, 95178 valid votes, and nil invalid votes.

The Kogi governor, flanked by the committee’s secretary, Ovie Omo-Agege, and other committee members, stated, “Reports from the field revealed that the primary election went on peacefully, and at the end of the exercise, votes were counted and recorded.”

Mrs Oluwatoyin Babalola, the Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC), led INEC officials in observing the collation and declaration.
