The Organised Labour has rejected the proposed N60,000 minimum wage by the federal government.

At today’s reconvened meeting of the Tripartite Committee on the new minimum wage, the union kicked against the proposed salary, instead shifting its ground from N615,000 to N494,000 as the National minimum wage.

This would be the fourth offer presented within approximately two weeks following the resumption of negotiation discussions.

The federal government had earlier proposed N48,000 as the new minimum wage, which was rejected by the worker leaders.

The government also proposed N54,000 and later increased it to N57,000, but these offers were also rejected by the workers’ union.

Details later…
