RENOVATED HEALTH INSURANCE BUILDING UNVEILED AT UNIMEDTH/SH AKURE

The newly renovated Health Insurance Building at the University of Medical Sciences Teaching Hospital/Specialist Hospital (UNIMEDTH/SH) in Akure was officially unveiled on Wednesday, July 3, 2024.

The renovation aims to enhance the working environment for staff and address the growing demand for healthcare services in Ondo State.

Key attendees included Ondo State’s Commissioner for Health, Hon. Dr. Banji Awolowo Ajaka, Special Adviser to the Governor on Health, Prof. Simidele Odimayo, representatives from Clitton Health Access Initiative (CHAI), Director General of Ondo State Contributory Health Commission, Dr. Abiodun Oyeneyen, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Health, Dr. Niran Ikuomola, Executive Secretary of ODCHMA, Pharm. (Dr.) Amos Ayegbusi, and Permanent Secretary of the Health Management Board, Dr. Ayodele Adiji.

Dr. Adeshina Akintan, Acting Medical Director of UNIMEDTH/SH Akure, welcomed the guests, highlighting the building’s role in delivering comprehensive healthcare services.

He praised the team’s dedication in completing the renovation.

Dr. Akintan emphasized the renovation as a crucial step toward quality healthcare in Ondo State, predicting a significant boost to the sector.

Dr. Ajaka commended the UNIMEDTH/SH Akure team for their efforts, encouraging them to maintain their commitment to quality healthcare.

Prof. Odimayo lauded the management’s work, stating that the renovation sets a high standard for healthcare services and boosts patient confidence.

Dr. Oyeneyen expressed his pleasure at witnessing the project’s completion, noting its potential to enhance health insurance services in Ondo State.

He acknowledged the contributions of all involved and announced plans to extend similar innovations to other government hospitals in the state.
