The Chief Justice of Nigeria (CJN), Justice Olukayode Ariwoola, has summoned the Chief Judges of the Federal High Court and the Kano State High Court over conflicting interim injunctions regarding the crisis rocking the Kano Emirate.

Two judgments, one from the federal government and another from the state, have declared both the Emir of Kano, Alhaji Aminu Ado Bayero, and the newly reinstated Emir of Kano, Alhaji Muhammad Sanusi II, as the authentic Emir of Kano.

The federal court overruled the newly passed law by the Kano State Government that abolished the creation of five emirate councils, while the State High Court backed the newly passed law and the reinstatement of Sanusi as the Emir of Kano.
