The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has appointed Mr. Finidi George, the coach of Enyimba Football Club, as the new coach of the Super Eagles.

Sources revealed that Finidi has been offered a one-year contract with the possibility of an extension if he successfully leads the team to qualify for the 2026 World Cup.

‘The News Eyes Daily’ gathered that the NFF has approved Daniel Amokachi and Benjamin James as Finidi’s assistants.

Tunji Baruwa has also been named as the goalkeeper trainer, Chima Onyeike as the fitness trainer, and Mehmet Ozturk as the analyst.

President Alhaji Ibrahim Gusau stated that Finidi’s appointment aligns with the desire of Nigerians for an indigenous coach for the Super Eagles.

He emphasized that Finidi has been given the authority to select his technical team.

To avoid past payment crises, Gusau noted that the assistants will be paid on a game-by-game basis, and they will receive bonuses and entitlements similar to players and other staff.
