TEARS, TRIBUTES AS REMAINS OF AKINTELURE LAID TO REST

A renowned philanthropist, and former politician, Dr. Paul Akintelure was laid to rest on Friday in his hometown, Igbotako, Okitipupa Local Government Area of Ondo State. 

Mourners gathered at the graveside to bid farewell to the 61-year-old, whose impact extended far beyond the boundaries of his community.

Dr. Akintelure, a trained medical doctor, ventured into politics, becoming the Ondo South senatorial candidate in the 2011 general elections and later the running mate to the late Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, SAN, in the 2012 governorship election in the state.

A member of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Dr. Akintelure was also among the party’s governorship aspirants until his untimely demise a few weeks before the primary election.

During the funeral mass at St. Pius Catholic Church in Igbotako, Okitipupa Local Government Area, Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa eulogized Dr. Akintelure as a man of integrity who left an indelible mark in his community and beyond.

The Governor celebrated Dr. Akintelure’s life, highlighting his roles as a medical practitioner, community leader, and dedicated political figure. 

He urged attendees to honour Dr. Akintelure’s memory by continuing his legacy of service and compassion.

Rev. Fr. Clement Odia, in his sermon, urged the congregation to emulate Dr. Akintelure’s virtues of kindness and generosity.

He described him as a devoted family man and a compassionate helper, encouraging the family to uphold his noble values.

Representing the family, Dr. Akintade Akintelure expressed gratitude for the support received during their time of grief, requesting prayers for the family’s strength and resilience.

Dignitaries at the funeral included Chief Olusola Oke, SAN, and Ambassador Sola Iji, Hon. Ololade Gbegudu, Mr Ola Olamide among others
