Ondo State Governor, Hon. Lucky Aiyedatiwa has dared other governorship aspirants who contested the All Progressives Congress (APC) primary election with him last weekend to leave the party and go to SDP if they cannot accept defeat.
This came barely 24 hours after the National Chairman of the Party, Abdullahi Ganduje, appealed to the aspirants to join forces and work for the party’s victory in the forthcoming 16 November governorship election.
He made the appeal on Thursday in Abuja when the aspirants met with members of the party’s National Working Committee (NWC) at the instance of Mr Ganduje.
Aiyedatiwa’s emergence as the candidate of the party has been elicited stiff opposition from his co aspirants who insisted that no election took place in the state.
However, the reconciliatory move by the national Chairman may have been thwarted by the Governor’s outburst asking the other aspirants who are not satisfied with his victory to leave the party.
Aiyedatiwa spoke through one of his media aides, Miss Maha Olubukola, known as Adunni Onigege Ara on social media.
The Governor’s aide in a short message on her verified page on Facebook wrote: “When you are too arrogant to accept defeat in peace, you will only ruin yourself. You can drop our ticket and go to SDP. A fi olohun sin e. How dare you bully a sitting Governor. As what na?
