A governorship aspirant of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the just concluded primary election in Ondo State, Mr Wale Akinterinwa has announced that he will report at the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) office today.
Akinterinwa, the immediate past Commissioner for Finance under late Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, SAN, disclosed the information in a post on his official X account.
According to the post “Today, I will be honouring the invitation from the EFCC to shed more light on certain matters that the commission wants clarification on.
“I have confidence in the anti-graft agency to conduct a thorough investigation and ensure that justice is done”.
The Nation newspaper reported on Monday that Akinterinwa was already in EFCC custody for questioning about state management during his tenure as finance commissioner.
However, during a radio programme in Akure on Monday, Akinterinwa stated that the news came as a surprise to him and that he was not in the EFCC custody.
