APC clears Gov. Aiyedatiwa & 15 others for Ondo governorship

The vetting committee of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ondo State has given the green light to Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa and 15 other governorship hopefuls to proceed to the party’s screening committee.

Scheduled to appear before the screening committee soon, these aspirants have been cleared of any wrongdoing regarding their credentials. Contrary to previous allegations, Governor Aiyedatiwa’s WAEC certificate was found to be genuine by the committee.

Headed by Prof. Abdulkarim Kana, the committee submitted its report to the party, revealing that no substantial evidence supported claims of certificate forgery against Governor Aiyedatiwa.

The list of cleared aspirants includes prominent figures like Olusoji Ehinlanwo, Jimi Odimayo, Jimoh Ibrahim, and Isaacs Kekemeke, APC National Vice Chairman (South West), among others. The committee emphasized the importance of aspirants refraining from baseless accusations that could mar the credibility of the party’s primaries.

Documents reviewed during the vetting process encompassed nomination forms, educational qualifications, party membership cards, INEC voter cards, and birth certificates.

All aspirants have been authorized to partake in the screening exercises. Specific documents, both originals and copies, were requested from each aspirant to be presented before the Screening Committee. These documents include APC Membership Card and Certificate of Indigeneship for Adewale Akinterinwa Olumuyiwa, Certificate of Indigeneship for Francis Adedayo Faduyile, and similar requirements for other aspirants.
